Welcome to this week’s installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. This week we’re looking at rentals within $100 of today’s price: $1,125.
1000 Van Dyke Street
We’ll start in West Village where our price range can snag a recently renovated two bedroom, one bath apartment in Van Dyke Manor. Residents pay electric, and pets are allowed. It’s right down the street from restaurants in West Village and it’s a few blocks away from Belle Isle. This one is renting for $1,195 per month.
825 Iroquois, Apartment B3
A few streets over in Indian Village, here’s a two bedroom, one bath apartment available in the Owen Park Apartments. This unit has hardwood floors, and it’s cat friendly (no dogs). Gas, water, and a parking space is included in the $1,195 per month rent.
1544 East Lafayette Street
Moving closer to downtown, there’s a studio—yes, a studio—available at DuCharme Place in our price range. These apartments opened last year, and the development has a large pool and outdoor area. It’s located right next to the Dequindre Cut, close to the Riverfront and just outside of downtown. The price? $1,100 per month.
510 East Philadelphia Street
Out in the North End, our price range can get a large two bedroom, one bath apartment. This unit has recently been renovated and the pet-friendly house also has a yard, plus garage parking. Rent is $1,199 per month; tenant pays electric and gas.
4759 Trumbull Street, #2F
Looking for a place that’s easily recognizable? There’s a one bedroom, one bath apartment at the Lorax House in Woodbridge that’s available. This energy-efficient unit has an updated kitchen and bathroom. It’s close to Midtown and Wayne State and it’s renting for $1,050 per month, plus electric.
