12 Apr Detroit apartment comparisons: What $1,250 rents right now
Source: Curbed Detroit
Welcome to this week’s installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. This week we’re looking at rentals within $100 of today’s price: $1,250.
First up is a 1,200-square-foot studio in Eastern Market. It’s located above the Red Bull House of Art, with views of Eastern Market murals. It’s pet-friendly (the kitty living its best life is not included), and gated parking is $25 per month. Rent is $1,125, with a $150 flat utility rate.
In the North End, this recently remodeled unit has three bedrooms and one bath over 1,200 square feet. We hope they figure out a workable layout in the kitchen. It’s located just north of New Center off of Woodward. Dogs are allowed here, and the tenant pays trash and water. This one comes in right at our $1,250 budget.
If you’re looking to live that downtown life, a 630-square-foot studio is coming in right under our max budget. Briggs Houze is a newer pet-friendly renovation located near Grand Circus Park, Comerica Park, and Beacon Park. This unit runs $1,330 per month.
The same company has a rental available in our price range in New Center. At Regis Houze, next to the Fisher Building, a 600-square-foot, one bedroom apartment goes for $1,200 a month. These recently renovated units have Rocket Fiber internet, washer and dryer in unit, and they’re pet friendly.
Along the Riverfront, a two bedroom, two bath apartment comes in at our price range. Alden Towers has a cat-friendly unit with hardwood floors, a small kitchen, and built-ins for $1,200 per month. It has a bay window overlooking Belle Isle and a “sexy bathroom.” Do what you will with that.
