Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, where we look at different homes in various neighborhoods all within the same price range. This week, we’re looking at houses within $10,000 of our price range: $360,000. Which would you choose? Vote in our poll below.
17314 Muirland Street, $359,900
First up is a fresh renovation in the University District. This large single-family home has hardwood floors, modern light fixtures, French doors, a new kitchen, four bedrooms plus a third-floor suite, new mechanicals and systems, a two-car garage, and a backyard. It’s in a neighborhood with an active block club and it’s close to shops along Livernois and Ferndale.
1343 Nicolet Place, $364,000
Looking for a smaller home in a park-like setting, but close to downtown? This Mies van der Rohe townhouse has three bedrooms, one and a half blue-tiled bathrooms, a galley kitchen, floor-to-ceiling windows, a basement for extra living space, and a cool midcentury modern feel. It’s located between the Riverfront and Eastern Market on the east side of downtown. HOA fees are $852 a month for the co-op, but include master mortgage, maintenance, and more.
460 West Canfield, Unit 206, $364,900
This one-bedroom loft in Midtown sits right across from the Jolly Pumpkin, Third Man Records, Shinola, and a small dog park. It’s close to Wayne State, the Qline, and a block away from the lovely West Canfield Historic District. The loft has an open living space, big windows, exposed brick, and hardwood floors. HOA fees are $354 per month and include gated parking.
1001 West Jefferson Avenue, Unit 14A, $365,000
For a room with a view, this 14th floor condo at Riverfront Towers has west-facing windows toward the Ambassador Bridge. The two bedroom, two bath condo is close to downtown and Corktown, and the complex features tennis courts, fitness centers, a grocery store, a restaurant, and private outdoor space near the river. HOA fees are $550 per month (condo includes one indoor parking space).
