30 May For $335K, a restored historic Tudor Revival in Pontiac
Source: Curbed Detroit
Today, we’re heading about 30 miles north up Woodward into Pontiac, where this 1920s Tudor sits among a community of historic homes. The Morris Mansion is located on just over a half acre in the Seminole Hills Historic District, and it’s listed for $335,000.
This lovely restored home reveals craftsmanship from the era, including a limestone fireplace, plaster crown friezes and medallions, oak flooring, a wrought iron bannister, and leaded windows. Also find built-ins and French doors for added character. The kitchen has modest updates, and a butler’s pantry adds more storage. Some original tiling is intact in the bathrooms, and a balcony upstairs overlooks the backyard. Also find slate tiling on the patio and an attached garage. Altogether, the house has four bedrooms, three full and two half baths, and extra living space in the basement.
The house is a little outside of our normal coverage, but a great example of the houses in the region built in this time period. It’s listed through Mona Parlove, and more information on the house and the neighborhood can be found here.
