We’ll start under budget on the east side with a two-bedroom apartment in East English Village. This no-frills 700-square-foot unit has been renovated, and the property is gated with private parking and shared laundry. Sorry, no pets allowed. 666 Parker
Moving west into West Village, a one-bedroom apartment is available at the newly renovated Parker House. These retro apartments have a mid-mod vibe and AC, which is very relevant this time of year. The apartments open to a courtyard below, and they’re located near Belle Isle and restaurants in West Village. Gated parking is available, and dogs are welcome on the first floor. A one-bedroom starts at $975.
2544 Canton
In Islandview, here’s a two-bedroom, one-bath recently renovated apartment. This unit has a lovely new kitchen with new appliances, plus a new bathroom. Pets are allowed here, and parking is on the street. The house is close to Belle Isle, about a mile away from West Village, and two miles from downtown. It’s renting for $900 per month.
4711 2nd Avenue, Apartment B1
Yes, there are rentals in our price range in Midtown, but they run 400 square feet on the “garden level.” For $875 per month, this one-bedroom, one-bath unit is available at 2nd and Forest, close to Wayne State, the museum district, the Qline, and all the restaurant options in Midtown. Water and heat is included, but only street parking is available. Cats are allowed here, but no dogs.
120 Seward Street, Apartment 103
For $900 per month, this one-bedroom, one-bath condo is available at Gramont Manor in New Center. The 650-square-foot apartment is located near the Qline, the Henry Ford Hospital, Wayne State, and the Fisher Building. No pets allowed, off-street parking is available, and tenant pays for electric and gas.
